Shonihari (also called Shonishin) is a technique of Japanese acupuncture that has been practiced for a very long time. It is a technique of acupuncture that stimulates the skin but does not pierce it, we can say without exaggeration that it is a technique that represents traditional Japanese acupuncture. Shonihari was adopted for the symptoms that appear daily in children, such as crying and screaming in the night, nervousness (a bad mood, a weird scream, biting someone, etc.), a lack of appetite , enuresis, constipation, diarrhea, retarded growth, malignant constitution, cold, etc.
It has long been known, with experience, that Shonihari immediately improves all these symptoms. The medical culture of Shonihari, which wants the health of children, has settled in Japan since the end of the Edo period (1780 ~). In recent years, Shonihari has been practiced experimentally on the disorders that accompany the development of children. such as atopic dermatitis, asthmatic bronchitis, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), the autistic spectrum, and there are publications that show its usefulness.
A soft and pleasant stimulation on the skin, Shonihari is a reassuring and safe treatment, without any risk of infection, and it is a treatment that patients can continue with pleasure, without forcing themselves. And for this to be effective, pleasant stimulation is essential for patients who are children. To practice pleasant Shonihari, there are some tips that I will introduce. The tools used for Shonihari are very diverse, and I will present you the main tools and the main techniques used today.
